March is going to be a BUSY month for the Neighborhood Center and Food Shelf!
The GMCCC 44th Annual Minnesota FoodShare Campaign takes place throughout the month of March. For every dollar or pound of food donated in March through April 6th, the Campaign will tabulate individual results and then provide a monetary donation to participating Food Shelves, which includes the Waseca Area Food Shelf. This donation is in addition to the donations that each Food Shelf received directly from their local community.
This March, the Waseca Area Food Shelf is excited to partner with the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce to Feed Waseca! The Chamber is helping spread the word to make the 2025 Food Share campaign the best it can be! Please consider donating either food or monetary donations to the Waseca Area Food Shelf during March. Your local donation stays 100% in the Waseca community to help your neighbors and friends that face food insecurity. The need has never been greater - in 2024, Minnesotans made an estimated record-breaking 9 million visits to food shelves.

The Waseca Area Food Shelf alone distributed 181,035 pounds of food to 5571 households (or 10,655 individuals) in 2024, with 2449 of those individuals being children ages 0-17.

The households served at the Waseca Area Food Shelf are from all walks of life - they could be your co-workers, neighbors or family members. And, at any time, it could be you! Please do what you can to support the Feed Waseca campaign - every little bit makes a difference!

Donations can be dropped off or mailed to: Waseca Area Food Shelf, 203 3rd Ave NW, Waseca, MN 56093. You can also donate online on the Waseca Area Neighborhood Service Center website (www.wasecaareaneighborhoodservicecenter.com) Look for the Make a Donation tab.

We have an upcoming Fundraiser Breakfast at the VFW on Sunday, March 23rd from 8AM -12 Noon so come and support the Center while getting an excellent breakfast!
​
We also will have a delicious Fundraising Turkey Commercial Dinner at the American Legion on Saturday, March 29th from 5-7 PM. This has been a big hit in past years! We will have some baked goods at a free will offering Bake Sale that evening, too.

***Food Donations at the breakfast and the Turkey Commercial fundraisers are appreciated and will be counted toward the total pounds of food donated for the March FoodShare campaign.
